Terms of use · 5 October 2026

Fair, simple terms.

Kwazi helps you understand your schoolwork. Here is what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

Using Kwazi

Anyone can create an account with Google or an email address. Learners under 18 must have a parent or guardian's permission, and confirm it when they sign up. Keep your account details to yourself.

Live tutoring in this release is operated by adults. Accounts declared under 18 can use learning resources, but a parent or guardian must operate live tutoring using their own account until the child-provider release gates are approved.

Wallet

100 wallet credits equal R1. Wallet questions currently cost 1,000 credits (R10) once your included questions are used; the app shows the current price before you fund your wallet. Blocked or failed answers are refunded. Wallet funds can also pay for reward campaigns. Contact support for payment problems or refund requests.

Funding and claiming rewards

Funders choose the programme, amount and eligible learners. The reward allocation and Kwazi service fee (10%, at least R15 per reward, minimum R20 per campaign) are shown before payment. Administrators arrange purchases with schools or suppliers and record purchases and uploaded vouchers. Funders can follow the allocation in My rewards.

Learners must have their school and class details verified by an administrator before claiming. Each correctly completed task can be allocated to one claim, and each learner can claim once per campaign. Rewards depend on actual funding and available stock. A claimed code is saved in the app and submitted to your verified contact using an available delivery channel. Scholarship records confirm payments made by an administrator; the app does not make bank transfers.

Credits and plans

New accounts get 5 free questions; an answer, a step broken down or a practice lesson each use one. New monthly plan sales are paused. Existing purchased plans remain active for their paid period and are not renewed automatically. Prices are shown in rand before you pay.

Answers

Kwazi's answers are checked for safety before you see them, but an AI can still make mistakes. Use the steps to understand the work, check important answers, and follow your teacher's and school's rules for assessments.

Fair use

  • Do not use Kwazi to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
  • Do not upload other people's personal information.
  • Do not try to break, overload or copy the service.

Developer API

  • API keys belong to the grown-up account that creates them. Questions and lessons through the API or the chat widget use that account's credits.
  • If you send learners' questions to Kwazi, you must have their consent, and a parent or guardian's consent for children, as POPIA requires. Do not send learners' names or contact details.
  • Only register sources you are allowed to share with Kwazi. Kwazi keeps a copy of each source until you delete it.
  • Keep secret keys on your server and revoke any key that leaks.
