Safety is part of the product

Learners should not have to manage the safety system.

Kwazi checks every question and answer, keeps a parent or guardian in charge of a child's use, and collects as little information as possible.

1

Checked before display

Every question is screened. Every answer must fit a strict teaching format and pass a safety check before a learner sees it; anything that fails is never shown.

2

Less learner data

Photos and voice recordings are read and then discarded, not stored. You can download or delete your account's data at any time from the Me page.

3

Parents in charge

The current live tutoring release is operated by adults: parents, guardians and teachers. Under-18 accounts record parent or guardian agreement, but live AI tutoring remains blocked until the separate child release gates are completed.

How it works

What Kwazi does to keep learners safe

  • Questions, photos and answers are moderated on the way in and on the way out.
  • Answers stick to schoolwork: Kwazi does not ask for personal details, contact information or locations.
  • Unsafe requests get a calm reply that points to a trusted adult or Childline (116, free).
  • Questions are answered by OpenAI models through their API, which does not use them to train models.
  • Camera, microphone, files and location are asked for only when a feature needs them, with a reason first.
  • Payments are handled by Yoco; Kwazi never sees card numbers.
For parents: you can see the subjects and topics covered in your adult account in Progress, and remove the account and its learning data from the Me page.

Responsible disclosure

Do not put child data, passwords or security details in a public report. Use the private support route so the team can respond without exposing sensitive information.
